How much do moving boxes cost in the Daytona Beach area? (2026 study)
Short answer: buying new cardboard and tape for a move in the Daytona Beach area costs about $71 for a studio and $356 for a four-bedroom house, using U-Haul[1] list prices checked on October 27, 2026. A two-bedroom apartment comes to about $168.

How did we calculate this?
- Box counts by home size come from HireAHelper[2]'s recommended mix of small, medium and large boxes.
- Box price: every box is priced at $2.04, the per-box price of U-Haul's 20-pack of medium boxes ($40.80). Small boxes cost a little less and large boxes more, so this is a middle estimate.
- Tape: one roll per 15 boxes at $4.95, U-Haul's listed price for clear packing tape (U-Haul[3]).
- Volume: small boxes 1.5 cubic feet, medium 3.0 (U-Haul's spec), large 4.5. Equivalent bins divide that volume by our bin's 3.6 cubic feet and round up.
- Not included: wardrobe boxes (U-Haul lists them at $21.50 each), bubble wrap, gas, or your time building and breaking down boxes.
What does this mean for renting bins?
Cardboard guides tend to over-count, because they plan for odd-shaped and half-full boxes. Our bins pack fuller because they're all the same size. Use the "equivalent bins" column as a ceiling, not a target. In practice, most two-bedroom apartments fit in 40 to 60 bins.
On price, a 40-bin package ($149) or 60-bin package ($199) lands close to the $168 cardboard bill for a two-bedroom apartment, and includes delivery and pickup.
