Spring 2027 move-in and the mandatory orientation are both on Monday, January 18, 2027. Spring classes begin the next day.
You get a check-in date and time well before move-in day. At check-in, staff walk you through a room inspection, hand over keys and help you get settled.

- Pay Fall 2026 housing charges by July 14, 2026; Spring 2027 charges are due by November 17, 2026.
- Register your car with Campus Safety; permits come from the Q&A Center in the Wetherell Center, Building 100, Room 119.

What is the Daytona State residence hall like?
DSC has one residence hall, a four-story building in the middle of the Daytona Beach campus. It holds up to 252 students, so spots are scarce. When it opened in 2022, more than 800 students sat on the waiting list.
The building has an elevator, which makes hauling bins to the upper floors much easier. Access to the building, elevator, floor, suite and room is all secured.
Suites are single gender. Each floor has laundry, study rooms and vending, and a resident assistant lives on every floor.
You must be enrolled at DSC to apply. Fall and spring residents need at least 12 credit hours, including 9 face-to-face, hybrid or hyflex hours. Residents also buy a meal plan.
- Double suite (four students, shared bath): $6,560 for 2026–27.
- Single semi-private suite (two students, shared bath): $7,625 for 2026–27.
- Single private suite (one student, private bath): $8,095 for 2026–27.
- Utilities and Wi-Fi are included; the $25 application fee and $250 deposit are non-refundable.

What should you bring to the DSC residence hall, and what is banned?
Your room already has an XL twin bed, dresser, desk and chair. Each suite also has a small microwave and a 3.2 cu. ft. mini fridge with no freezer.
You can add one more small fridge per room, up to 3.2 cu. ft. Extra furniture is fine if it fits safely, but personal beds are not allowed. College furniture must stay in the room.
Pack XL twin sheets to fit the bed. Renter's insurance is strongly recommended, because the college does not insure your belongings.
- Banned: hot plates, toaster ovens, air fryers, Instant Pots, rice cookers and crock pots.
- Banned: candles, incense and anything with an open flame.
- Banned: e-scooters, e-bikes, hoverboards, and scooters or skateboards inside the building.
- Banned: pets, waterbeds, ceiling fans, hanging flags, paint and wall coverings.
- Banned: weapons, replicas, fireworks, alcohol, tobacco, vapes and drones.

Where do Daytona State students live off campus?
With about 18,600 students and only 252 beds, most DSC students live off campus. A Daytona Times report called DSC largely a commuter school.
Purpose-built student complexes rent by the bedroom. Bellamy Daytona, at 601 Bellamy Ct., has 376 beds and markets to DSC, Embry-Riddle, Bethune-Cookman and UCF students.
OnShore Daytona, on Halifax Medical Center Drive, is about 1.2 miles from DSC. Eagles Landing on Clyde Morris Boulevard is popular with Embry-Riddle students but open to others.
Expect landlord screening. Bellamy typically asks for a 650 credit score and income of three times rent, and older complexes may want a parent co-signer.
- Bellamy Daytona: furnished 3- to 5-bedroom units, individual leases, in-unit laundry.
- OnShore Daytona: 2x2, 3x3, 4x4 and 4x4.5 townhome plans.
- Rents reported by the Daytona Times: Bellamy from about $965–$1,050 a bedroom; OnShore two-bedrooms from $1,215.
- The same report put the average Daytona Beach apartment at $1,497 a month.

How many moving totes do you need for a DSC dorm or apartment?
A residence hall room usually fits in about 20 totes. A one- or two-bedroom apartment takes around 40, and a three-bedroom closer to 60.
